Whoop…whoop!

We’re absolutely delighted that #ArtificialDeathOfACareer is now officially an award-winning career advice book, taking Best Non-Fiction at the The Wishing Shelf Book Awards 2025.

This one feels particularly special. Our previous books were all finalists, so to go one better this time is hugely satisfying (it feels good to get to step on to the podium finally). Even more meaningful is the fact that The Wishing Shelf was the very first programme to recognise our work back in 2024. So there’s a nice sense of coming full circle.

What makes these awards stand out is their approach. Founded by Billy Bob Buttons (aka Edward Trayer), they rely on real readers (book clubs in London and Stockholm) who actually read, review, and debate each entry. No algorithms, no shortcuts, just thoughtful human judgement. That makes this recognition feel all the more genuine.

Huge thanks to Billy Bob Buttons, Edward Trayer, and the brilliant judging panels.

Fantastic.
